    Hallo Hallo,

We returned to The Plym yesterday morning after an amazing week at Sawmills studio in Cornwall…

We completed recordings for the new album and they’re sounding great!

Sawmills is situated in it’s own creek just off the river Fowey and is only accessible by boat…

Loading all the gear onto the boat and setting off down the river instantly puts you in a great frame of mind. We were itching to start, so on the first night we demo’d the tracks to Tom (The Engineer).

Demoing the tracks enables you to pick the best arrangements and tempos for each song before you start the “tracking” process (layering the instruments over each other seperately)

The next morning (while Aza was recording some drum takes), Ben and I set off in the canoe for a paddle about the creek. We saw loads of fish so went back to the house to find fishing rods and bait. Then we spent most of the afternoon not catching aything, but it was still good fun…

We all dangled our rods at some point (ahem), alas, we’re clearly not born fishermen. Ben even went digging for bait in the mud. Sadly not even a wriggly worm was enough to coax a fish onto our hooks, although i did catch a crab! (a tiny crab, but it’s still a crab!)

Anyways, we were all sad to leave, but the recordings sound great so all good!

Many thanks to Tom for doing such a grand job engineering and producing the tracks.

    See you soon,

    Albert
